THE Mahaica/Mahaicony/Abary Agricultural Development Association (MMA/ADA) on Saturday morning, presented land leases to a number of persons and one farming co-operative for residential and farming purposes, respectively.

The presentation was done via a small ceremony in the Boardroom of the minister’s secretariat where Minister of Agriculture, Noel Holder, made the presentation to some of the recipients. Present at the ceremony was Judith Greene, Alicea Gordon, Romel Carlos Jagroop, among others.

A representative of the No.5 Rice Farmers Co-operative Society was also there to collect on behalf of the Co-Op. The total amount of land issued this morning was 716 acres, of which 5 persons were granted their leases for residential purposes. However, overall for this batch, close to 1000 acres have been issued, which include residential lots for a total of 74 families.
