A HALF-century from Tydell Lovell spurred Soesdyke Secondary School to a comprehensive victory against Brickdam Secondary when action in the Forbes Burnham Foundation/National Sports Commission/Al Sport and Tour Promotions ‘Hit it for 50’ School Windball Cricket continued recently at the National Gymnasium.

Soesdyke Secondary batted first and scored 135-1 with Tydell Lovell hitting a match-high 79 runs. Brickdam in reply were restricted to 67-2.

Shekiera Williams smashed 56 for East Ruimveldt Secondary.

In another male clash, an all-round performance from Laranzo Raganandan propelled St Joseph High School to victory against Camille’s Academy. Led by Rhan Jahman with 38, Camille’s Academy scored 85-5 batting first. Raganandan picked up 2-12 and then returned with the bat to score 40 to lead his school to 89-0.
Meanwhile Cummings Lodge Secondary, led by Josh Alves, were able to register a win against the Business School in the other male battle.
Business School were restricted to 60-4 with Josh Alves taking 3-10, while in reply, Cummings Lodge reached 63-0 with Alves hitting 37.

FEMALE BATTLE
In the female division, Camille’s Academy were able to beat Soesdyke Secondary in a high-scoring clash.

Led by half-centuries from Shennon Baird (66) and Tenisha Hoyte (58) Soesdyke romped to 144-0. Tamica Simon and several of her other schoolmates played their part with the bat for Camille’s Academy who raced to 148-2. Simon finished with 44.

East Ruimveldt Secondary defeated Charlestown Secondary in their battle. Charlestown batted first and scored 133-2. Donna Lowe led the attack with 64, while Marissa Brower added 45.
East Ruimveldt in reply scored 136-1 with Shekiera Williams hitting 56 and Yosunda Hoppie 47.
