Car discovered in hidden container

– vehicle allegedly killed teen in hit-and-run

OVER the weekend, the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) discovered a damaged silver-grey motorcar that was allegedly involved in a fatal accident on Valentine’s Day along the Farm Public Road, East Bank Essequibo (EBE).

The vehicle, PYY 2003, was found hidden in a container.
Reports indicate that the vehicle was the one involved in the death of 17-year-old Kwon Trotz, who was walking home around 23:00h on February 14, along the Farm Public Road, EBE, in Region Three Essequibo Islands-West Demerara).

Trotz, of Lot 12 Farm, EBE, was at the time of his death employed at a car wash-bay.
Based on information received, the victim was walking along the roadway when he was struck down by an alleged speeding motorcar which fled the scene.
He was picked up and taken to the Leonora Cottage Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said the CANU ranks discovered the hidden vehicle inside of a container at Da Silva Beach, EBE, while the damage to the vehicle was consistent with those from the accident scene that claimed the teen’s life.

“The damages from the scene of the accident matches the vehicle, while the driver sought medical attention. We know who he is,” police said.

The driver is a 21-year-old man of Parika, EBE, and the police have been hunting him since the discovery of the vehicle.

“A wanted bulletin will be issued for him soon,” police said.
