…in keeping with its corporate social responsibility

SIX-HUNDRED-AND-THIRTY seniors, including the company’s pensioners and members of benevolent organisations, were treated by Banks DIH Limited at its annual Senior Citizens Luncheon on Sunday at Thirst Park.

Chairman and Managing-Director of Banks DIH Limited, Mr. Clifford Reis, said that Banks DIH continues to take its corporate social responsibility seriously by giving back to the communities in which it operates.

Mr. Reis highlighted the company’s programme for the current fiscal year and for Guyana’s 50th Republic Anniversary being observed on February 23, 2020.

He said that Banks DIH Limited is “Celebrating Education” in observance of Guyana’s Golden Jubilee as a republic by providing financial grants to vocational and technical institutions across the country.

This initiative was launched last Thursday at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre. Mr. Reis also disclosed plans for the expansion of Citizens Bank in Georgetown and Bartica and for construction of the company’s automotive division and for modernised parking at Demerara Park. There was also a cultural presentation, which included veteran calypsonian the Mighty Smoker, among other performers.

Members and residents of the following organisations were in attendance: the Guyana Red Cross; the Guyana Veterans Legion (GVL); theSalvation Army men and women’s hostels; the David Rose Centre, West Ruimveldt; the Guyana Society for the Blind; the Guyana Association for the Visually Impaired; Uncle Eddies’ Home; Archer’s Home; and the St. Vincent de Paul Home. The attendees were provided with meals, refreshments, hampers and financial assistance.
