Mayor accuses PPP supporters of dumping garbage in City

PERSONS associated with the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) are deliberately throwing garbage at different locations in the City to make the City Council look bad, Georgetown Mayor Ubraj Narine complained lately.

Speaking at the most recent statutory meeting at City Hall, Narine said it has been found that, after the Council workers do their cleaning, persons are going to dump in those exact locations double the amount of garbage that was picked up.

Narine said it has also been found that one set of PPP supporters are taking photographs on the garbage and posting them on social media every weekend. He said these individuals are able to find the exact spots each week to make the posts.

According to Narine, the Council owes no money to the major garbage collector companies, and hence, there is no issue with garbage collection in the City at the moment.

“People want to cause destruction in the City and make the Council look bad. While the Council is trying to clean, people are going back and dump double the amount of garbage.”
