Young politician urges support for David Granger Presidency

URGING Guyanese to make the right choice come March 2, 2020, APNU+AFC Candidate, Thandi McAllister, said Guyana has experienced unprecedented development over the last four and a half years under the A Partnership for National Unity + Alliance For Change (APNU/AFC) government, when compared to the People’s Progressive Party’s (PPP) 23 years in office.

McAllister, at the time, was addressing thousands of APNU+AFC supporters at the coalition’s elections rally at the Leonora Athletics Stadium in Region Three.
On March 2, 2020 all eligible Guyanese must vote wisely, she told the supporters, while urging them to put their ‘X’ next to the palm tree and the key, which she views as a choice that will benefit “this generation and generations to come.”

She added that if the said choice is made, Guyana will never go back to the state it was under the previous administration, instead, all Guyanese will enjoy the “good life.”
“We must say to PPP, never again. Never again will our friend in Tuschen Phase Two refer to their road as the seven ponds because we fixed their roads. Never again will our friends in Den Amstel experience drastic floods because we have currently allocated $327M to the construction of a sluice, and that is the good life. Never again will our friends in Free and Easy feel neglected,” McAllister said in an electrifying speech to the thousands of supporters.

Under the APNU+AFC Administration, Region Three, she said, experienced unprecedented infrastructural development.

“It is under this David Granger-led administration, for the first time, they are walking, riding, driving and playing on asphalted roads, and that is progress. Across this region, we have seen development in the road network like never before and in Wakenaam, the residents there are undoubtedly happy, [they now have] asphalted roads…,” she pointed out.

Additional, she stated that the APNU/AFC administration would have completed and commissioned the West Demerara Highway. Added to that, the main drainage canal was excavated after 20 years, creating easier access for farmers to enter the market. Communities in the region are now enjoying 24-hour supply of electricity and potable water.

According to McAllister, the President’s vision for education is holistic and as such, the Bagotsville Primary School was built, the Leonora Primary School is expanding, Westminster Housing Scheme now has a primary school. The region, she further pointed out, has a special-needs school which caters for children of diverse needs.

“The good life belongs to all of us and this educated nation that we are aiming for must benefit all of our children, that is the good life. We are moving forward together, moving forward with my President and yours, David Arthur Granger; moving forward with a Partnership for National Unity and the Alliance For Change, moving forward with Region Three.”

McAllister also indicated that His Excellency, Brigadier David Arthur Granger, is the best Presidential candidate when compared to Irfaan Ali, calling Guyana’s President a “decent, honest man, experienced and man of vision and integrity.”

McAllister was among four speakers including President Granger, who had addressed the supporters at the Leonora Athletics Stadium on Friday.
