A  New Amsterdam stallholder was stabbed during a robbery at Cumberland Pharmacy, East Canje, just after 08:00hrs on Thursday morning.

Asraz Ali, 57, called “Uncle Boy” was rushed to the New Amsterdam Hospital where he is now a patient.

The entire scene was captured on a security surveillance camera, which revealed that Ali had just left the adjoining shop with a bag containing an undisclosed sum of cash and a plucked chicken.

Ali was awaiting transportation to New Amsterdam when a male, who was posing as a customer, walked by and grabbed his bag.

Ali put up a resistance and in the process was stabbed in the right side by his attacker who fled the scene.

Police are investigating the incident.
