DIRECTOR GENERAL of the Ministry of the Presidency, Mr. Joseph Harmon, on Christmas Day, represented President David Granger at the Dharm Shala’s Annual Christmas Luncheon at its Albouystown location.

DG Harmon joined with the institution’s administration to serve lunch and other goodies to the senior citizens. In his brief remarks, Mr. Harmon thanked Ms. Pamela and Ms. Kella Ramsaroop, the founder, the late Pandit Ramsaroop Maraj’s granddaughters, for their dedication and service over the years. He said that Christmas is an important festival that underscores the message of peace, love, goodwill and kindness to humanity and the home is a shining example of these.

Further, DG Harmon said that while the organisation currently receives an annual subvention from the Government to the tune of $1.5M, the Government is committed to ensuring that this is substantially increased in the new year so as to adequately support its work.(Ministry of the Presidency)
