AFTER a nail-biting final yesterday evening at GFF’s training ground at Providence, Lodge Secondary were confirmed champions of the 2019 Tradewind Takers GUYOIL school football league.
The eventual champions were led by Rasheed Evans, whose 15th minute goal stood the test until the final whistle.
Try as they might, Annandale could not find an equaliser during regulation time.
Both teams, however, move into the KFC Goodwill football tournament set to commence this weekend.
The game that determined third place was a goal-less draw.
Bishops’ High played President’s College for the spot but by virtue of it being a draw, Marian Academy finished third in the tournament, thereby securing the final spot in the KFC tournament.
The winners pocketed $200 000 towards a project for their school with second place getting $100 000, third $50 000 and fourth place $25 000.
