Reports are that two persons, including businessman Dillon De Ramos and a senior police officer, died in an accident on the lower East Coast Demerara (ECD) late this afternoon.

De Ramos of Providence, East Bank Demerara is the owner of the popular Kosmos Bar and Grill at the Movietowne Mall and several clothing stores in the city.

DEAD: Senior Superintendent , Brian Eastman.

He and his bodyguard, Senior Superintendent Brian Eastman, of Norton Street in the city, were reportedly heading to the city in a Lexus SUV bearing registration PTT 6775, when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the fence outside Yokohama Trading at Liliendaal, ECD.

Eastman was off-duty at the time of his demise.

Police are investigating the accident.
