ATTORNEY General, Basil Williams and a team of officials are currently attending the 50th plenary and Working Group Meeting of the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force (CFATF) in Antigua, which opens today.

On the delegation are: Joann Bond, Deputy Chief Parliamentary Counsel, Romel St. Hill Assistant Solicitor General and Perlina Gifth of the Ministry of Social Protection; Special Organised Crime Unit Superintendent Althea Padmore; Matthew Langevine, Director of the Financial Intelligence Unit; Ms. Alicia Williams, Senior Compliance Officer; Guyana Gold Board, Ms. Eondrene Thompson, General Manager; Gaming Authority Mr. Lloyd Moore – Chief Executive Officer; Office of the DPP Ms. Natasha Backer, Mrs Teshana Lake; Guyana Securities Council, Shaun Allicock; Bank of Guyana Governor, Dr. Gobind Ganga and Mr Ramnarine Lal and Mrs Kara Duff -Yehudah of GGMC.

The CFATF’s meetings will deal with important matters such as: Steering Group Meetings; CFATF Working Group on FATF Issues such as the Mutual Evaluation Reports of Bermuda and the Turks and Caicos Islands, where Ms. Bond is the Legal Assessor in the Mutual Evaluation of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

This meeting has been organised to bring together various member states of the Caribbean, allowing them to present assessment reports, action plans and to discuss procedures for the fourth round of evaluation of countries.
