THE Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC) have followed through on its promise to donate to cancer awareness.

On Friday, the club handed over two cheques, the first to the Guyana Cancer Foundation then to Beacon Cancer Foundation.

According to GMR&SC president Rameez Mohamed, the club had promised to support cancer awareness by making a donation.

“The donation came from a section of our gate receipts from our 1320 Heat rematch as well as our Clash of Champions event. We thought that this support could go a long way.”

GMR&SC Office Secretary Cheryl Gonzalves handed over the donation to the head of the Guyana Cancer Foundation, Bibi Hassan.

Hassan extended her support to the club should they intend to travel to interior locations.

“If you guys are doing outreaches to the interior locations of Guyana, the Guyana Cancer Foundation would be happy to assist you.”

In a separate donation, the club through Executive Committee member Carey Griffith handed over a second donation to the Beacon Cancer Foundation.

Griffith contended that it was a part of the club’s corporate social responsibility.
