PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, (CMC) – Guyana Jaguars’ rocky start to the Regional Super50 Cup continued here Saturday when they went down by six wickets to Group B hosts Trinidad and Tobago Red Force.

Sent in at Queen’s Park Oval, Jaguars could only muster 187 for nine after an extended rain break during the innings forced a reduction in overs to 43.
Similar to their opening match against West Indies Emerging Players, Jaguars again struggled in the batting department and Jonathan Foo’s cameo 36 off 31 balls at number seven, proved the top score.

Ramaal Lewis chipped in with 28 from 17 balls, West Indies all-rounder Raymon Reifer struck a patient 26 while Christopher Barnwell (24) and Leon Johnson (22) both got starts but failed to carry on.
Fast bowler Anderson Phillip stood out for Red Force, claiming four for 44 from nine overs.
Red Force then made light work of the modest target, with Tion Webster stroking a career-best 87 off 60 balls to set up the comfortable victory.

His opening partner Jeremy Solozano extended his good form with 39 while Jason Mohammed struck 28 and West Indies left-hander Darren Bravo finished on 26 not out.
The defeat for Jaguars was their first in two games following their narrow win over Emerging Players while Red Force won their second in as many outings.
Jaguars never found their footing and lost wickets regularly, to find themselves labouring on 91 for five at the end of the 28th over.

Foo and then Reifer came to their side’s rescue, featuring in successive partnerships to push Guyana beyond the 150-run mark.
First, Foo blasted two fours and sixes as he inspired a 49-run sixth wicket stand with Reifer, who then put on a further 34 for the seventh wicket with Lewis.

In reply, Webster took the game away from Jaguars with an audacious knock which included 11 fours and three sixes. More importantly, he staged a 124-run opening stand with Solozano, who hit four fours in a 55-ball innings.
Both departed in the space of 12 balls and when Kyle Hope also perished cheaply for four, Red Force were stumbling slightly at 134 for three in the 23rd over.

However Bravo, fresh off an unbeaten hundred in the opening game, punched two fours in a 49-ball innings as he put on 47 for the fourth wicket with Mohammed to effectively erase any doubt over the result.

In the other Group B fixture at the Brian Lara Stadium, Joshua DaSilva struck an unbeaten 62 off 44 deliveries to pull Emerging Players out of trouble and lift them to a six-wicket win over United States.

Chasing 110 for victory, Emerging Players were in strife at 25 for four in the sixth over but DaSilva hit seven fours and two sixes to inspire an 85-run, unbroken fifth wicket partnership with Yannic Cariah (24 not out), to take his side home in the 18th over.
