Albouystown resident injured in shootout

POLICE are investigating the circumstances under which an Albouystown resident was shot twice on Saturday during a shootout with another man at the La Penitence Market, Georgetown.

Reports indicate that the confrontation occurred in the vicinity of Twins Pharmacy and the victim was identified as Shawn Brown. He was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.

Reports indicate that Brown and two other men exited a car which was parked in front of Twins Pharmacy, and started shooting at a man, who was walking on the road. The man, who sprinted for safety, whipped out a gun and returned fire, injuring Brown.

“These got to be mad people, the one that was shooting end up getting shoot, the other man they was shooting at just run and hide then start shooting back at the other one and hit he,” one eyewitness said.

He continued: “These people didn’t care who else was around, they just shooting like they mad, vendors were running like they mad for shelter.”
