Is this how the free press should behave, I wonder!

Dear Editor,
CONGRATULATIONS to the new Indian High Commissioner Dr Srinivasa and his staff for organising a very educational function in honour of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on Wednesday last.
I dropped in with my wife just as Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo was speaking. What he was saying was so refreshing that both of us stayed until the end of his remarks.
The next day we put our hands on a copy of the newspapers which is the Guyana Times. I saw two articles about the function, and no mention was made of either the presence of the prime minister or of his speech. I find this to be strange.
Is this how the free press should behave? I wonder!
Regards,
Jamal Yusuf
