DeSinco Supports CDC flood relief efforts

DeSinco Trading Limited, on Thursday, donated a number of food supplies to the Civil Defence Commission (CDC) for distribution to the flood-affected areas and other residents in Region 8 (Potaro-Sipuruni) who are currently experiencing drought condition.

Director-General of the CDC, Lieutenant Colonel Kester Craig explained that “Guyana is not only impacted by floods but droughts and prolonged dry seasons as well. So, these supplies will be distributed to several Indigenous communities in Region 8; in areas such as Kanapang and Kamana Village among others.”

The Director-General commended the management of DeSinco Trading Limited for the assistance and noted that the company has often partnered with the Commission to provide emergency supplies in times of need.

De Sinco Limited’s Brand Manager, Aisha D’ Abreu, said as part of its corporate responsibility, the company “always reaches out to help the nation in its time of need, in any shape or form.”

D’ Abreu also mentioned that the company recently supplied items for relief and care packages distributed by the CDC to residents affected by flood in Regions 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. (DPI)
