Man fined for assaulting and threatening his mother

TERRY Clement of D’Urban Street, Lodge, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Faith McGusty on Wednesday and pleaded guilty admitted to two charges.

Particulars of the first charge stated that, on September 22, 2019, at D’Urban Street, Lodge, he unlawfully assaulted Norma Jack.

The second charge stated that, on the same day and at the same place, he used threatening language towards the said person.

“I was upset I ask she fa money and she in want give me and I pick up the rolling pin to bar from her because she was going to knock me, I pick up the rolling pin by accident, but I love ma mother and would do anything for her,” Clement said.

Magistrate McGusty after listening to both Jacks’ and Clement’s explanations fined Clement $20,000 on the assault charge and $10,000 on the threatening language charge.
