NEXT Saturday night, the National Cultural Centre will come alive when 10 young ladies will vie for the crown of the Miss Indigenous Heritage Pageant.
The pageant, in its 10th year, is held every two years and since its introduction to the calendar of events as part of Indigenous Heritage month celebrations, Guyanese have flocked the venue as the damsels compete for the crown.
Already, the young ladies are creating a hype on social media platform—Facebook– as persons have started to identify their favourite.
The contestants are Miss Esther Marslowe (Region One); Miss Shauna Fredericks (Region Two); Miss Natalia Patterson (Region Three); Miss Ann Mera Simon (Region Four); Miss Rosetta Fredericks (Region Five); Miss Varshnie Herman (Region Six); Miss Jeline Dasilva (Region Seven); Miss Katie Williams (Region Eight); Miss Luana Allicock (Region Nine) and Miss Shevon Williams (Region 10).
The pageant begins at 19:00hrs and tickets are available at the Ministry of Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs and the National Cultural Centre box office. Tickets cost $2,500, $2,000 and $1,500 per person.
