RELATIVES of ranks, who died in the line of duty, have received monetary assistance from the Guyana Police Force (GPF) Fallen Heroes Foundation Inc.

The donation is made four times yearly by the foundation to assist in the educational development of the children of the recipients. Over a dozen persons benefitted.
Deputy Commissioner, Intelligence/Special Branch, Nigel Hoppie assisted chairman of the Foundation, Reverend Dr. Murtland Raphael Massiah, and others in handing over the cheques at the Police Officers’ Mess.

These funds are to assist with necessities which may be needed for the children to attend school regularly. It also caters for school uniforms, payment of school fees, transportation, textbooks and School-Based Assignments, among other items.

The contributions to the families would continue until the child reaches the age of 18.
The GPF’s Fallen Heroes Foundation was officially founded on October 28, 2015, after former Commissioner, Seelall Persaud, attended the funeral of one of the slain officers and realised that the family would be financially constrained, particularly in view of the fact that the officer left behind school-aged children.
