A 36-year-old miner was shot three times and is in critical condition after he tried to rape a businesswoman at her mining camp around midnight on Friday.

Reports indicate that the female miner is a licensed firearm holder. She used the firearm after the miner allegedly entered her mining camp and indecently assaulted her and attempted to remove her underwear.

The miner was reportedly intoxicated when he was shot on his arms and abdomen. He was taken to the Mahdia hospital by persons at the camp.

The matter was reportedly to the police and the businesswoman was taken into police custody as investigations continue.
