…three occupants arrested, two escape

THREE men were arrested with a 9mm pistol and ammunition, along with a haversack containing black masks, hoodies, gloves and several pairs of trousers, after police intercepted a grey motorcar, at Ruby Access Road, East Bank Essequibo on Sunday.
Reports indicated that, on Sunday, five persons were initially in the grey Toyota Premio motorcar, but when they saw police approaching the vehicle, two persons from the back seat sprinted away and escaped on foot into nearby bushes.

The men were questioned but denied ownership of the firearm and haversack. They were taken to the Parika Police Station where they remain in custody pending further investigation.
