Two bandits were on Thursday shot dead and third arrested during a shootout with police on Norton Street, Georgetown.
A policeman was injured during the skirmish, which lasted for over two hours. The shootout stemmed from a robbery, where the criminals invaded the home of a family. Police were summoned and for hours they were holed up in the home during which they exchanged rapid gunfire with the lawmen.
