NEVILLE Garnett, a 42-year-old security guard, was Friday granted bail by Principal Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrates Court for allegedly discharging a loaded firearm in public.
Garnett, who is a resident of Lot 15 ‘C’ Field, Sophia, Greater Georgetown, denied that on Saturday, March 2, 2019, he discharged a loaded firearm at Camp Street within 100 yards of a public way.
According to Police Prosecutor Sanj Singh, on the day in question the defendant was stationed at the Republic Bank Camp Street location around 12:40hrs, when the firearm went off and pellets hit several persons who were passing in the area at the said time.
The matter was then reported to the police and he was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.
Garnett was granted bail in the sum of $50,000 and he is expected to make his next court appearance on May 24, 2019.
