HIGH Commissioner of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana to the United Kingdom, His Excellency Hamley Case, last Friday presented his credentials to the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron.

They discussed increasing the level of French investments in Guyana, a release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. Also, while in Paris, the Guyanese non-resident Ambassador to France used the opportunity to meet with Patrick Pouyanné, the Chief Executive Officer of TOTAL S. A., the French oil and gas giant, to explore possibilities for further developing its relationship with Guyana.

Further, he held discussions with officials at the headquarters of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) on the reconstruction of the City Hall in Georgetown. Guyana and France established diplomatic relations on June 22, 1967.
