The Court of Appeal late on Friday afternoon ruled that 34 votes and not 33 were needed to pass the no confidence motion which was passed in the National Assembly last December.

Acting Chancellor of the Judiciary Yonette Cummings and Justice Dawn Gregory ruled that 34 votes were needed for an absolute majority to pass the no confidence motion.

Justice Rishi Persaud voted in favour of the Chief Justice’s ruling
