US envoy, Minister Greenidge discuss oil and gas, political climate

AMBASSADOR of the United States of America to the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, Sarah Ann Lynch, on Thursday paid a courtesy call on Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carl Greenidge at his office.

During the meeting, the Foreign AffairsMinister and the Ambassador discussed Guyana’s oil and gas sector, the current political and economic situation, and the Guyana-Venezuela controversy.

Further, Ambassador Lynch expressed her hope to deepen existing relations between Guyana and the United States. The two countries have maintained a high level of bilateral cooperation since the establishment of diplomatic relations on August 15, 1966.

Present at the meeting were Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy, Mr. Terry Steers-Gonzalez; Director-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Audrey Jardine-Waddell; and Foreign Service Officer, Ms. Asake Lee.
