CANAL Number 2 claimed an opening win in the Amreith Rocky RAI Memorial Cup T20 competition when they took on the Rising Stars ‘B’ team recently at home.

After winning the toss, Canal team opted to bat, but they lost some early wickets. It took some free-flowing shots from the Jadunauth brothers to stabilise the innings. Vishwanauth ‘Junior’ Jadunauth and Tejnauth Jadunauth scored 30 and 35 respectively, which helped to push the home team to 146 before the 20 overs expired.  Anthony Ifill added 27.

Bowling for Rising Stars, T. Naipal took three wickets.

Rising Stars, in reply, were routed for 33 runs with Sidieq Sulaman leading the attack with three wickets. Narendra Persaud, Ghansham Mahabal and Viswanauth Jadunuth supported with two wickets each.

No batsman from Rising Stars B reached double figure.
