THE final night of group stage action in the Magnum Mash Futsal tournament culminated with a win for defending champions Bent Street while Sparta Boss and Leopold Street also won their matches to qualify for the round of 16.

On Saturday night at the National Gymnasium, Bent Street faced Kingston in Group A action and promptly sent them packing with a 2-0 win. Pernel Schultz and Sheldon Profit struck two early goals (fourth and 9th minutes) to help their side progress as Group winners.

Meanwhile, Sparta Boss needled North Ruimveldt through the boot of Ryan Hackett in the fifth minute to book their round of 16 spot. Leopold Street were big winners hitting six goals past Agricola without response with captain Okeene Fraser netting a hat-rick with goals in the 4th,10th and 13th minutes, while Darren Benjamin had a brace in the 3rd and 11th minutes with Mark Jhalu scoring the other goal in the 12th minute.

In other games, Ansa McAl All-Stars drew 1-1 with Albouystown, with Andrew Murray scoring in the third minute for the latter while Delroy Dean netted Ansa McAl’s solitary goal in the sixth minute.

North East La Penitence were the benefactors of a walkover from BV-B with Stabroek Ballers also gaining maximum points in the same fashion over California Square.

Rhythm Ballers and Silver Bullets clash ended in a no-contest while Broad Street beat Ol’ Skool Warriors 2-0 with Rocky Gravesande and Ray Smith finding the back of the net in the 6th and 13th minutes respectively.

Melanie edged Avocado Ballers 2-1 with Rondel Assanah and Anil Hernandez coming up with the goods for the victors in the 5th and 13th minutes respectively while Dexter Marshall was the lone goal scorer for Avocado in the 8th minute.

Future Stars and Buxton Diamond played out to a 1-1 deadlock with Dillon Wright netting for the latter in the fourth minute while William Europe responded for Future Stars immediately after.

Group D- Showstoppers, Broad Street
Group E- Ansa McAl All-Stars, Leopold Street

Group G- Back Circle, North East La Penitence
Group H- Sophia, North Ruimveldt

Action resumes on Tuesday with clashes in the round of 16 at the National Gymnasium.
