CLOSING submissions from both the defence and State are expected to be made on Monday (February 18, 2019) before Justice James Bovell-Drakes, in the Demerara High Court.
In this trial, all the witnesses have testified and the judge is expected to sum-up the case, after which it will be handed over to the jury to deliberate for a verdict.
According to the State’s case, it is alleged that, on August 30, 2007, the two accused: Sherwin Nero called “Catty” and Mark Royden Williams called “Smallie”, murdered Kumar Singh called ‘Mango Man’.
According to the indictment, the duo were among four gunmen who, in 2007, invaded Kumar Singh’s Cove and John, East Coast Demerara home, during which Singh was shot and killed.
Both accused have retained the services of defence attorney Nigel Hughes, while the State is represented by Tameika Clarke and Tiffini Lyken.
