NARAYAN Ramdhani continued his high performance in Canada, this time reaching the Finals and placing second at the 2018-19 ACAC (Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference) Inter College/University Badminton Tournament #3, played at the Olds College in Alberta.

This is the third finals in a row after winning his first in November 2019 and the second in early January. The circuit will continue and concludes with the ACAC Championships on February 17 at the Concordia University.

The King’s University-EAGLES, Olds College-BRONCOS, Concordia University of Edmonton-THUNDER and Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) –OOKS are the teams that participated.

Ramdhani, who was seeded number one, represented The King’s Eagles and defeated Jeffery Ko (21-10, 21-17) in the quarter-finals, and then took care of Ronuelle Mendina (21-15, 21-10) in the semi-finals.

In the Finals, Ramdhani went down to Ronuelle Mendina 21-11 and 21-10.

In the Men’s doubles, Ramdhani teamed up with Aakash Panchal but the pair lost in the Quarter-Finals to Braxton Wong and Raphael Wong in straight sets 21-18 and 21-17.

Ramdhani and Panchal then finished fifth by defeating Alex Boulier and Rylan Head 21-16, 21-13 and then Colton Grier-Olds and Luther Jurke 21-15 and 21-16.

The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is the governing body for collegiate sports in Alberta, Canada. Founded in 1964 as the Western Inter-College Conference, the ACAC is represented by seventeen schools, including one in Saskatchewan that competes in ten sports.

The ACAC is a member of the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association, and provincial champions compete for national collegiate titles.

In a release, the Guyana Badminton Association (GBA) stated that they’re “extremely happy with the consistent performance and development of this player.”
