More pipes arrive for Liza Phase One oil production

EXXONMobil-Guyana’s prime contractor for subsea installation services, Saipem, offloaded its second shipment of 2,684 pipes for the Liza Phase One project just last week.
These pipes will be laid on the seafloor at the Liza Phase One Development offshore Guyana and are mostly used to move oil and gas.

According to a release from ExxonMobil, the shipment arrived in Georgetown on January 14, 2019 and is the second of multiple shipments, adding to the 1,519 pieces of pipe received in December, 2018.

“The delivery consists of oil production flow-lines and gas and water reinjection pipes,” the release said, adding: “The pipes will be stored in Georgetown before being taken offshore in the second quarter of 2019, to be installed by the Saipem FDS2 pipe-laying vessel.”
The maritime vessel is a specialised floating facility for submerged pipeline- laying.
