Learning from the politics of Guyana’s past

TO the timid spirit the conclusion is, that the turbulent world of politics is best left to be defined by other men and somehow it will eventually serve their dreams while they slip into pathetic obscurity. This is the grim differentiation between the condition of those ‘who know and the knows not’, that restrains the ability to foresee and interpret the fictions, subliminal bigotry and distortions that emerge from the print and electronic media from political agendas aimed at dividing who must ‘live’ and who must ‘exist’.

This assault is supported by a compatible network that edits and suppresses letters and opinions that challenge their impositions, which are intended to marginalise you whether you are political or not, but merely because of who you are. Intelligence and propaganda are serious weapons. They have colonised the vulgar treachery of the old world and seek more sophisticated methods like the mass indoctrination of peoples through religion and propaganda that constitute more lies, make believe scenarios that construct heroes and devils where they do not exist, in the hope that you have forgotten your yesterday, which they will repackage for you to instil a new reconstructed memory, to tell you what you are and what you deserve from life.

Bribery, especially of the vulnerable as the Charrandass conspiracy is unveiling, is one ancient method of destabilising that still is an option by desperate cliques, if checks and balances are not in place in expectation of this old vice. To understand require simple efforts, research, discussion and comparisons between periods of our history, against the type of global world we lived in and are now living in and, the ability to understand where we stand.

Sunday 6, January 2019, ’60 MINUTES’ carried an article about a multibillion project started by a man with a passion for nature, to produce among a new array of products, a new hyper-natural sweetener from fallen leaves that will replace sugar in a short time. Knowing all this, we must realise that many of the arguments that occupy media space as contentions raised as protests are not actually what the real agenda is. Intelligence awareness is all about understanding enough of what is sacred to a man, by his conduct [by his works shall a man ‘collectively’ be known] and the contradictions that expose his/her innate values.

I want to draw a case study of how a man’s obvious nature can be used against him by conspiracy against his greatest fears. Joseph Stalin was by all means a predictable monstrous person. In 1937 a fellow monster Reinhard Heydrich, founder of the SD [a vicious spy organisation of the Nazis], concocted a plot and extended it to include the Russian military command in a plot to overthrow Stalin. It was passed to Stalin not by the Germans but by a Czech middleman close to the Kremlin. The expected outcome was a purge of the Russian officer corps. Stalin executed 40,000 of his own able officers and the act was described as ‘Stalin’s huge folly’. This Nazi masterpiece resulted in the low morale and the swift destruction of the Russian armies when the Germans launched operation Barbarossa, the invasion of Russia in 1941. History regardless of how disputed it is, serves as a great reference. But with all this German success Hitler concluded,”The Bolsheviks are our superiors in one field only-espionage. “The current world is still motivated by the same values of exploiting the weak, perverted and self-serving politicians, their imbecilic sycophants and vulnerable political actors like Charrandass,` whose crumbling social environment should not have been ignored by his peers. I do hope that the political people have appealed to the nation he has more loyalty to, to observe him, for in the world he has entered people like him are considered by his puppeteers as ‘disposable’.

On the question of dual citizenship, after the episode of Charrandass, this feature has come to the fore as a blatant disregard of the constitution and as an ugly creature of blame. My take is,that the Constitution is the Constitution; it is constructed to guide us, I suppose in this context to assure the loyalty [in concept] to ‘Nationhood’. I wish to include an incident that occurred in 2005, Ronald Waddell told me he wanted me to meet someone at a shop at Bare Root, up the coast. He outlined the nature of the information the person had, and I was interested. He drove, so we were to make the trip the following evening, on the way home I was intercepted by a car driven by a youngster [now deceased] I knew years before from St. Stephen’s Street, he was then a Roger Khan cartel hit-man. He spoke quietly “Duh trip to Bare Root call it off” and he drove off, to onlookers no conversation happened, this was not the first time I had benefitted like this. Ogunseye and I sat a few nights later with a small group of colleagues; I told them of the matter, without identifying my incidental guardian angel, and pondered on where the PPP was taking the country. We painted a grim picture when one of our colleagues said, “well, I’m Canadian and pointing to another present, he’s American, we’ll take refuge in those embassies, if it gets that bad.” Talk about a wake upper.

I think that if a person inherits dual citizenship as a child, it must differ in classification from an adult that seeks dual citizenship out of opportunity, especially those who left here on government scholarships and never returned, then reappear as foreign citizens, they constitute a special category. Such a law must also include a declaration of ownership of assets abroad etc., because a person does not have to have dual citizenship to own property and assets of legal and questionable sources, the latter in many cases to our detriment in other countries. The question for Guyanese to pay attention to is: What level of external foreign interference is mingling and entertained secretly in our domestic affairs in 2019?
