Nine committees installed as new City Council holds first meeting

NINE city committees were installed on Monday when the Mayor and City Council (M&CC) met for its first statutory meeting of 2019.
Of the nine committees installed, former mayor Patricia Chase-Green has been elected to sit on five.

While A Partnership for National Unit (APNU) councillors led the way in nominating names for the committees, almost all of the nominations by the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) and the Alliance for Change (AFC) councillors were shot down.
The AFC has a representative on three committees, while the PPP has a representative on one of the committees.

The City Works Committee is now made up of Councillors Gregory Fraser, Eketa Edwards, David Allicock, Alfred Mentore, Clayton Hinds, Eon Bollers, and Mark Griffith.
The Social Development Committee has Councillors Patricia Chase-Green, Shonelle Smith-Daniels, Yvonne Ferguson, Trichria Richards, Richard Van Veen, Dexter Forte and Celesia Hall.

The Legal Affairs Committee has Councillors Ubraj Narine, Mark Griffith, Fraser, Yvonne Ferguson, Forte, Ivelaw Henry, and Chase-Green.

The Human Resource Management Committee has Councillors Forte, Smith-Daniels, Denroy Tudor, Oscar Clarke, Heston Bostwick, Ayodelle Roach, and Chase-Green.
The Markets and Public Health Committee now has Chase-Green, Smith-Daniels, Bostwick, Cynthia Stewart, Tudor, Richards, and Yvonne Ferguson.

Bostwick, Akeem Peter, Edwards, Mentore, Griffith, Hinds, and Michael Leonard were elected to the Environment and Sustainability Committee.
The Investment and Development Committee is now made up of Eon Bollers, Mentore, Chase-Green, Bostwick, Hinds, Hall, and Stewart.

The Information Technology Committee has Bollers, Van Veen, Peter, Hall, Bostwick, Roach, and Dimitri Ali.

The International Relations Committee is made up of Councillors Peter, Tudor, Griffith, Narine, Mentore, Bollers and Stewart.
