A VENEZUELAN was on Wednesday night shot and killed when he and a gang attempted to rob a mining camp in Cuyuni, Region Seven, police confirmed.

Reports indicate that the gang attacked the camp and during the ordeal, a security guard opened fire, killing one of the perpetrators around 22:00hrs at Black Water, Cuyuni.

Reports indicate that the robbers fled the scene, leaving their weapons behind.
Police are investigating the incident.
