THE newly sworn in Grove/Diamond Neighbourhood Democratic Council (NDC) has planned to lobby for better roads, particularly in the Diamond New Scheme.
Vice Chairman of the NDC, Ulric Paul, has responded to residents of the community who complained many times about the atrocious condition of the roads.
“There are a lot of roads that need to be repaired… from Sixth Avenue to Twenty- One Avenue… through the NDC we cannot build but we will lobby the Ministry of Public Infrastructure them to be done,” said Paul who noted that patch work will be done in the meantime.
Persons have complained on several occasions about not being able to traverse the roads in the scheme because of the enormous potholes in them.
Under the previous council, Paul, who was chairman of the works committee, said the NDC has a lot of plans and programmes in the pipeline.
“It is just a continuation of what we started… but our major focus would be on drainage and roads which we have budgeted for in 2019,” he said.
The NDC intends on improving every sector and offering better services to the residents of the communities.
