OVER 350 children had an early visit from Santa Claus this year as the Give Another Chance Foundation held its fourth annual “Christmas Ray of Hope” event in Wakenaam on Sunday.
According to the foundation, the children had an interaction with Mr. and Mrs. Claus after the lighting of a 40ft Christmas tree.
The children received gifts and were also entertained by renowned local comedian, Granny Ivelaw.
“The foundation would like to express their heartfelt thanks to their Wakenaam supporters, especially Mikey Speedboat Service and Dara Amin for playing their part in making this event a possibility,” said the Foundation.

The Foundation intends on taking the joy to Georgetown on December 22, 2018 at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue, Georgetown from 13:00hrs.
According to a Stabroek News report, the Foundation’s acting President Melissa ‘Vanilla’ Roberts, had explained that the NGO was established by Miranda Thakurdin, who came from less fortunate circumstances herself, and with several other likeminded individuals, sought to offer assistance to needy persons as a means of improving their lives.
The report stated that since its establishment, the GACF has spent the first five years actively catering to the needs of underprivileged children in Wakenaam.
Roberts had said a lot of emphasis had been placed on education and working with children from as young as two years old to university-aged young adults.
