SOME things are better left unsaid, but then there are other things that just can’t be kept quiet. I am an employee of Noble House Seafoods Inc and I must say that I am very much dissatisfied with the way things are being run here.

Let me just address but a few of these concerns.
Firstly, let us start with my salary. My current salary is eighty-five thousand dollars ($85,000). Now my contract requires me to work from Monday – Saturday. Overtime from Monday-Friday is paid at time and a half and overtime on Saturday is paid at double. I kid you not when I say that every single day from Monday-Saturday I work from 7:00 AM to sometimes 8:00 PM in the nights as the work can be a bit demanding. However, when we as the employees collect our pay slips, we are paid a maximum of only five thousand dollars ($5,000) in overtime. When we query with the relevant departments, they have the audacity to say that most of the money is being contributed to the NIS and this is very frustrating, as they think we are some kind of dumb animals that don’t understand what’s going on.

Secondly, since we are on the topic of salaries, let us discuss the fact that senior management in the company are being paid exorbitant amounts of money. Normally this wouldn’t be an issue to me, but considering they come to work whenever they feel like and do nothing almost all day is quite unfair.

Thirdly, we as employees are entitled to be paid our bonuses in a timely manner. Let me make this clear by saying that our bonuses are paid on the last day of the year. What kind of a company pays their employees their bonuses on the last day of the year? Bonuses are quite handy around the Christmas season and we can’t even provide for our families because of the incompetence of senior management.

Lastly I would like to close by challenging the relevant authorities to take a closer look at this company. They are withholding our salaries and are claiming it’s paid to the tax authorities. They require us to work all week from morning until night and when it’s time to get paid they act as if we don’t deserve this money. This is becoming too frustrating and overbearing. We cannot even complain to the Human Resources Department because they are in league with those persons who refuse to pay us our salaries.

No one likes when their salaries are being tampered with, so I am urging the authorities to carry out an investigation into this company to determine where our monies are going. We have families to provide for and we can’t do that under incompetent management. We can’t even leave the job because jobs are so hard to get in this country at the moment.
