Malicia Andrews condition improves

MALICIA Andrews, a mother of six who suffered multiple chop wounds last Wednesday is said to have improved following surgery. She was reportedly assaulted by her partner who later allegedly took his own life after the assault.

He was laid to rest on Friday.

The couple, who had been living together for three years were experiencing domestic issues and in a fit of rage, 39-year-old Ian English inflicted multiple chop wounds on Andrews, who is the mother of their three year-old child. She bled profusely in the living room of her mother’s home at Swan Village, Soesdyke/Linden Highway, where she had gone to seek refuge following a heated argument with English, who after committing the act, fled into some nearby bushes and hanged himself.

According to a relative, Carmelita Adams, Andrews is doing much better and is attempting to speak but cannot due to the tubes that are in her mouth. She is reportedly opening her eyes and the body swelling has reduced significantly and she is accepting ‘liquid’ feeding.
