Police on Wednesday morning arrested three men who are suspected to have stolen items from homes at Canal Number One, Polder, West Bank Demerara.

Police noted that around 03:30hrs a police team commanded by a Sergeant, whilst conducting a stop and search exercise on the Meer-Zorgen Public Road at the Western End of the Harbour Bridge, stopped and searched a yellow wagon motorcar.

Police said the driver of the car and two occupants were found with a laptop, ear-pieces, four cellular phones, an Amazon tablet, an assortment of jewels, a Guyana Passport, local and foreign currencies and other items in the vehicle.

Police said the vehicle and the suspects were escorted to the nearby La-Grange Police Station.

Ironically, within minutes of their detention, two reports of breakages in the Canal Number One Polder were reported and the victims, both female educators, positively identified all of the items which they men had, as their property.

The suspects are expected to be charged shortly.
