Dear Editor
I WAS astounded to read in an online news article from a prominent online news establishment that Scotiabank has sold its local operations and will be exiting the Guyana operations.

I am astounded because as a long-time account holder of this bank for several decades, I would have expected to be informed by the bank before this information reached the public domain. I would hope that the arbitrary transfer of my account to the sold bank is not a done deal without any consultation with me.
