Essequibo duo gets three years for possession of illegal firearm, ammunition

THIRTY- FOUR-year-old Anthony Lamazone of Grant Cullen, Lower Pomeroon River and 27-year-old Munesh Ramsaroop of Charity, Back Street, Essequibo Coast , were on Thursday fined $100,000 and three years imprisonment after they pleaded guilty to the charge of possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.

They made their appearance before Magistrate Esther Sam at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court. The charge stated that on November,19, 2018, at Anna Regina they had in their possession an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. They admitted committing the offence and were therefore sentenced to three years imprisonment.
