NSC salutes National table tennis players’ exploits in Jamaica

THE National Sports Commission (NSC), and, by extension, the Director of Sport, Christopher Jones, in a release to the media said that they are “delighted with the performances of Guyana table tennis contingent who participated in the just concluded 60th edition of the Caribbean Table Tennis Federation (CTTF) Senior Championships in Jamaica”.

The release continued; “The Commission wishes to make special mention of the stellar efforts by Shemar Britton and Chelsea Edghill who captured individual gold in the male and female Under-21 categories. We recognise the significance of your achievements at the Caribbean level”.

The spirited performances of Christopher Franklin, Trenace Lowe and Edghill in senior events were also well documented.

Shemar Britton won U-21 gold.

“To the other delegation members Nigel Bryan, Joel Alleyne, Natalie Cumming, and Priscilla Greaves, who also represented Guyana with high honour, we thank you for your service and be reminded that the National Sports Commission remains committed to the development of sports in Guyana”.

In addition to Britton and Edghill’s gold medals, bronze was also captured by Franklin and Lowe in the Singles competition.
