THE police are hunting a bandit who twice shot a dog food vendor and robbed two females of their cellular phones.

One of the two female victims was also a dog food vendor.

The incident occurred around 20:40hrs on Monday at the corner of Aubrey Barker Street and the Stevedore Scheme access road, North Ruimveldt; the suspect fled the scene in a waiting motor car. The injured victim, Shane Cooper, 26, of Jackson Ville, North Ruimveldt, is currently a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery for gunshot wounds to the abdomen and left leg.

Police said the injured man is in stable but serious condition; an investigation is in progress.
