A 21-year-old customs broker of North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, was robbed of his XR motorcycle: CJ 1680 by armed bandits when he returned home on Tuesday night.
Reports indicate that the victim had just arrived home and turned onto his bridge at Stevedore Housing Scheme, North Ruimveldt, when he noticed two men on a black CG motorcycle. The men rode up and stopped behind him.
One resident said that the pillion rider came off of the motorcycle with a gun in hand and approached the victim, pointing the gun towards him.
The perpetrator then demanded that the 21-year-old get off the bike and hand over the keys, to which he refused.
The gunman then assaulted the victim by hitting him to the back of his head with the handgun and discharged a round in the air causing the victim to give up his keys. The bandits then escaped with the motorcycle along Aubrey Barker Road.
Meanwhile, a 35-year-old mechanic of Section M Campbellville was also robbed on Tuesday night of an XR motorcycle: CJ4341 and other valuables when two bandits on a black and white Honda XR motorcycle cornered him at Plum Park, Sophia.
Reports indicate that the victim was riding his motorcycle north along Plum Park when he observed the perpetrators on a motorcycle behind him.
He then heard loud explosions, which sounded like gunshots, coming from behind him and he immediately stopped and jumped off his motorcycle. The pillion rider then came off the motorcycle and pointed a handgun at the victim, searched his pockets and took away his cellular phone and valuables. The robber then picked up the victim’s motorcycle and escaped in the company of his accomplice.
