THE Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara (ECD) Ground Committee’s Annual Basketball and Football competitions were successful.

Held on September 1, the basketball competition saw Haslington come up against President’s College Road. The former came out on top by a six-point margin winning 33-27. Leading the way for Haslington was Sherwin Legall with 11 points while R. Crandon had 12 points for PC Road in a losing effort.

In the football competition a large crowd saw Bush Corner thrash the U-17s by a 5-0 margin. Both teams were awarded trophies and cash for their performances. Organisers have promised that next year will be bigger and better.
