WIDELY regarded as the next generation’s top talents, Kaysan ‘Baby Face Assassin’ Ninvalle and Jonathan Van Lange secured silver medals for Guyana on Tuesday in the U-13 Doubles category at the Caribbean Regional Table Tennis Federation’s (CRTTF) Mini and Pre-Cadet Championships currently being held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
The dynamic duo faced Trinidad and Tobago in the preliminary round and duly dispatched them in a five-setter, coming out victorious at 3-2. They then faced the number one seeded team Dominican Republic ‘A’ and fought valiantly to come out on top in another five-setter at 3-2.
In the semi-final Ninvalle and Van Lange defeated Puerto Rico 3-1 to book their place in the final. They then faced Dominican Republic’s ‘B’ team where they battled in yet another five-setter. However, this time they were on the wrong end losing 2-3 and settled for silver.
Guyana’s players will head into the Singles competition today.
