Guyana secured four medals on the opening day of the goodwill

swimming tournament in Barbados.

The three-day tournament features teams from the hosts, Trinidad, Bahamas, Jamaica, St. Lucia, Guyana and Grenada opened on Friday.

The Guyanese picked their first gold through Aleka Persaud in the 100m freestyle after which Ethan Gonsalves picked up his gold in the male class.

Gonsalves gained a bronze medal the 100m backstroke while Daniel Scott added the fourth Bronze in the freestyle.

The 36 swimmer team returns home on Monday.
