TWENTY teams will begin their quest to claim the $600 000 first-place prize in this year’s ExxonMobil/Mohamed’s Enterprise New Era Futsal tournament, which is set to kick off tonight at the Mackenzie Hard Court in Linden.
Following the opening ceremony, sponsors and organisers will give brief remarks. Fans will then witness eight matches. The first game will be at 18:30hrs between Mines FC and Red Line.
The teams were placed in four groups of five and the top two teams will advance to the knock-out stage. Following tonight’s set of matches the tournament will continue on July 28, August 1, 3, 4, 10, 11 and the final on August 18.
Second-place will pocket $250 000 and teams finishing third and fourth will take home $100 000 and $75 000 respectively.
The competing teams are Mines FC, Red Line, Custom, Swag FC, DC Ballers, Hard Ball, Figgy Green Jaguars, Russians, Silver Bullets, Young Kings, Nutman All-Stars, Royal Warriors, Progressive Ballers, Money Move, Trendsetters, Quiet Storm, Westside Ballers, Presidential Family, Haynes Hitters and Good Fellas.
