A GUYANA Defence Force (GDF) rank was among four persons charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking and appeared before Magistrate Crystal Lambert at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate‘s Court on Monday.

The quartet, GDF rank Kunene Rodney of Kaneville, East Bank Demerara (EBD); Shomar Thomas of Samatta Point, Grove EBD; Clarence Boston of Kaneville; and Michael Dennis of Diamond, EBD were all placed on $100,000 each after pleading not guilty when the charge was read to them.

On July 14, police acting on information, stopped and searched a car at the western end of the Demerara Harbour Bridge. They found 927 grammes of marijuana packed into several ziploc bags.
