Charged for stealing music cart valued $768,000

AT the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 23-year-old Teshawn McKenzie appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman charged with larceny.

It is alleged that on May 12, 2018 at Durban Street, McKenzie stole a music cart valued $ 768,180 from Ezikel Jackson. McKenzie pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecution objected to bail being granted on the grounds that the defendant was charged with robbery before and was convicted for that offence.

The court also heard that McKenzie was released from prison in March after serving a one-year term of imprisonment for escaping from the Lusignan Prison back in July last year.
The magistrate, based upon the prosecution’s objection remanded McKenzie to prison until July 18.
